ZF encourages families to spend time together and, therefore, offers a wide range of programs for all members of a family to enjoy. From social get-togethers to self-improvement workshops, these events are intended to benefit families in the region.
ZF believes keeping fit and having a strong body is important. Therefore, weekly women's aerobics classes are held with high priority at the center. Having a peaceful morning with other sisters, the women encourage each other to exercise.
Volunteer tutors are imperative to the success of our educational workshops. We pride ourselves in providing low teacher to student ratios during our tutoring sessions. This can only be successful with help from volunteers like you.
We encourage both adults and youth to volunteer as tutors. We believe that striving high-schoolers can benefit from instructing younger students and that students thrive when having a close age-range with their teachers.
Please keep in mind that ZF strongly believes in providing high-quality educational programs and volunteering tutors must commit to certain standards and must qualify based on the following criteria.
In the busy world we live in, adults often overlook simple pleasures, such as reading books. A supporter of literacy, ZF DE started a book club for adults in which group members choose inspiring books to read (mostly fiction) and discuss lessons to learn during meetings at the center. Books discussed so far include, but are not limited to:
Members of the book club have enjoyed reading these inspirational books and spending time with each other.
High school and college applications often require students to have recommendation letters written by reliable sources. Recommendation letters allow schools to see a side of you that is not shown through grades and test scores. ZF can testify for your volunteer service in a professionally written letter signed by a ZF staff/mentor.
Keep in mind that ZF holds the right to deny recommending a student based on our standards and certain guidelines.
